THE FOUNDING SPIRIT OF MANUFACTURE ROYALE

Our roots stretch all the way back to 1770, when the illustrious French philosopher Voltaire founded Manufacture Royale.

By creating this company, Voltaire’s ambition was to make a difference in every possible way. Manufacture Royale workshop turned watches into beautiful pieces of art dedicated to European royalty and elite.

As one of the leading figures of the French Enlightenment, Voltaire instilled a spirit of independence in the hearts of many, including political leaders and thinkers. Since then, Manufacture Royale has followed in his footsteps and has learned to cultivate Voltaire’s free spirit.

Manufacture Royale opened a modern workshop in Vallorbe in the heart of the Swiss Jura, the cradle of Swiss watchmaking.

Combining tradition with modernity, manufacture royale perpetrates traditional values of swiss watchmaking while integrating the latest industrial advancements.
